On Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd, volunteers, city employees, and professional playground equipment installers gathered to construct a new playground at City Lake Park. Members of the Royse City Masonic Lodge, members of the Royse City High School football team, and members of the Royse City Parks and Recreation Board assisted in the build. The community build was a success as much of the labor associated with the playground was complete in those two days. Additionally, food and hydration were provided to all participants by local businesses and organizations, including: the Royse City Lions Club, Texas Title, Arbor House of Rockwall, Scooter’s Oil & Lube, Re/Max (Royse City), Baker Spine & Sport, and Domino’s.
Many thanks goes out to all of those who assisted in the build! Final touches will be placed on the playground early next week (week of March 31) and then, it will be open. An official ribbon-cutting/grand opening will follow in coming weeks.
The new playground at City Lake Park is a joint beautification project between Collin County 2007 Parks & Open Space Bond Program and the City of Royse City.
