P&Z Commission and City Council to Take Final Comments Regarding Comprehensive Plan on March 28, 2017

After many months of work by the City’s consultant, City Council, the Planning & Zoning Commission, Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, and City staff, the Final Draft of the Comprehensive Plan is complete. Royse City 2030: A Roadmap for the Future of Our Community can be viewed by downloading the file, HERE. This document is exactly what the title describes – “a roadmap for the future of our community.” The plan identifies nine planning pillars, molding the plan with action items for each pillar. The pillars are:  Community Design; Land Use & Growth Management; Housing & Neighborhoods; Mobility; Parks, Recreation & Open Space; Infrastructure & Natural Resources; Facilities & Public Safety; Economy & Workforce; and Communication, Partnerships & Volunteerism. The Planning & Zoning Commission will have a public hearing in a special-called meeting on March 28th at 100 W. Main at 6 PM followed by the regular City Council meeting at 7 PM, at which City Council will also take public comment.
