After a joint Royse City City Council and Community Development Corporation meeting last night, it was announced that Buc-ee’s will be building in Royse City. What we can expect in Royse City: an approximately 50,000 square foot travel center with around 50 gas pumps at the southwest corner of I-30 and FM 2642. City officials and Buc-ee’s officials are working to have the I-30/FM 2642 bridge reconstructed. Buc-ee’s will time their completion of of the project with their reconstruction of the bridge/intersection, which is likely to be sooner than later.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of stopping by a Buc-ee’s during a road trip, they are very popular places. They contain their own line of food products – snack foods and jarred vegetables, relishes, etc.; numerous fountain drinks; several ICEE machines; deli foods; fudge; gift items; Buc-ee’s brand clothing, cups, etc.; and not to be forgotten: lots of very clean restrooms!
