Lateral Program: 

The Royse City Police Department honors a year for year lateral program. Officers can lateral in at the step equivalent to their years of experience. If an officer has 6 years or more of experience they will lateral in at the Top Out rate.

Medical and Vision Insurance:

100% City Provided for employees and competitive rates for families.

Shift Differential Pay:

$1,300.00 per year for working deep nights.

Bilingual Pay:  

$2,080.00 per year.

Longevity Pay:

$5.00 per month of service after completing 1 year

Tuition Reimbursement:

Tuition Reimbursement up to $2,500.00 per year available upon request and approval for job related programs.

Compensatory Time:

Up to 48 hours of time given in lieu of overtime at the rate of 1.5 hours per hour worked. 

Retirement:

Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) 14% contribution by City, 20-year retirement, 5-year vesting.

Holiday Leave:

13 paid holidays.

Sick Leave:

3.08 hours per pay period (10 days per year)

Military Leave:

Up to 15 days per fiscal year (October 1 - September 30) for members of the military, including State Military Forces and Reserve components of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Equipment: 

All equipment including load bearing vests, uniforms, and dry cleaning paid for.

Work Schedule: 

Officers assigned to patrol duties work 12-hour shifts.
