Hide, Lock, Take

Royse City Police have adopted the lock your car, take your keys and hide your belongings program which first began in downtown Dallas. The Hide, Lock, Take program not only has an impact against vehicle break-ins but also residential, commercial and industrial properties.

INITIATION AWARENESS PROGRAMS

One of the goals of the Royse City Police Department is to decrease property crimes within our community. We feel that the Hide, Lock, Take program will be effective in communicating the need for our citizens to lock their cars, take their keys and hide their belongings. The large majority of thefts from vehicles is what we refer to as a “crime of opportunity” due to people leaving their vehicles unsecured.

BUSINESSES

The Royse City Police Department encourages business owners, apartment complexes and shopping centers throughout Royse City to place the Hide, Lock, Take signs in various areas throughout their property.

Officers have already begun handing out paper storefront signs to businesses within our community in addition to having metal outdoor signs available from the police department. These weatherproof metal signs can be placed on light poles and used to remind drivers entering parking lots to "Hide, Lock, Take."
