Collection Box
The Royse City Police Department has a collection box for citizens to drop off unused or expired prescription drugs. The safe and proper disposal of unused or expired prescription medications helps provide protection to the environment by keeping medications out of the water supply. In addition, it helps to keep our community safer by keeping these types of drugs out of the hands of young people and individuals who might abuse prescription drugs.
The collection box is located in the Royse City Police Department lobby and can be utilized by the public Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

What is accepted?
Items accepted in the drug collection box are prescription pills, vitamins, prescription ointments, prescription patches, pet medications and/or over the counter medications in pill form.
We do NOT accept needles, inhalers, aerosol cans, thermometers, lotions or liquids, or hydrogen peroxide in the drug collection box.
When discarding pills, please place them in a double-bagged baggie prior to placing them in the drug disposal bin.

DEA Drug Take Back Events
The Royse City Police Department is an official collection site for the DEA National Drug Take Back Program. Twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring, the national campaign to remove unused and/or expired drugs is held in communities throughout the United States. During the event, citizens can bring their unused and/or expired drugs to a collection site for proper disposal and destruction.
