What is a sanitary sewer clean-out?
Plumbing access to a structure's main sanitary drain piping to allow a cleaning entry point when a stoppage occurs.

Where are sanitary sewer clean-outs?
1) Some structures built before 1970, clean-outs are located toward the back of the property in line with main toilet vent.
2) Most structures built after 1970, clean-outs are usually located in front flower bed area in line with main toilet vent.

What do sanitary clean-outs look like?
1) Older structures may have a 4" cast iron pipe with a hub and brass threaded cap.
2) Newer structures can have either a 3" or 4" PVC pipe with brass, PVC or rubber cap.

What if the City clean-out is dry?
Sewer stoppage is on the resident's side and a licensed plumber is necessary.  Public Works employees DO NOT go past the City clean-out.

Why is my kitchen sink stopped up?
99.9% of the time, sink stoppages are internal problems and need to be taken care of by the resident or a licensed plumber.

Are flushable wipes really safe the City Sewer?
Although they say flushable wipes are safe, continuous use almost always results in a stoppage.
