The Royse City Police Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality police services to residents of and visitors to Royse City. Our goal is that every contact with officers from this department be positive and satisfactory.

Police Personnel Complaints
We investigate all misconduct allegations and quickly respond to inquiries about employee conduct and departmental policies and procedures.
Section 614.022 of the Texas Government Code requires that all complaints against police officers must be in writing and signed by the person making the complaint. To satisfy this provision of the law, we will require a signed written statement from the person aggrieved or a fact witness. This statement must be in the form of a signed letter, and once the letter has been verified, an investigation will begin.
Internal Affairs investigations are conducted to determine if any employee misconduct or rule violation occurred. Investigations will NOT be conducted for any of the following reasons:
- When a complaint is relative to differences of opinion over the issuance of a traffic citation;
- When a complaint is relative to the difference of opinion over guilt or innocence of a citizen. This will be properly adjudicated within the judicial system;
- When a complaint involves a citizens’ misunderstanding of Department Policy which can be explained and resolved by a supervisor, or
- When a complaint is relative to differences of opinion regarding contributing factors listed on an accident report.
Complaint Filing Process
- A person wishing to file a police complaint with the Royse City Police Department should first contact a supervisor who will further explain the complaint process.
- The complainant will be required to sign a letter of complaint verifying that it is not a fictitious letter that has been signed with a fictitious name.
- The complainant may file a complaint by any of the following ways:
- Submit a signed written statement in person at the Royse City Police Department
- Download the complaint form below and email the completed copy to ndial@roysecity.com, or
- Mail the completed form to the Royse City Police Department.

Traffic Complaint
Safety on the roadways of Royse City is a big part of our mission to provide a safe place to live, work, and visit. To help us better serve our community, we are asking for citizen input to identify problem areas in and around our neighborhoods. This traffic complaint form will be directed to our patrol and traffic units, so they can direct extra patrols to an area and help ensure safety. Please, be as specific as possible when describing the issue including the day and time in which the activity seems to be occurring the most.
